Project Summary
This team explored the systematic and causal relations between violence, colonialism and the exploitation of women in Papua by using a systems-thinking approach. Two of their key insights were: 1) The significant interconnectedness between cultural norms and economic institutions that are often and detrimentally analysed separately and 2) The unintended negative consequences that high-level policy decisions often have at the community level when they are made without community-level engagement.
