Driven by a passionate belief that all sectors of society must act together to achieve prosperous and sustainable business and society, Darian works with companies, the UN, NGOs, and governments with one aim: to unleash the power of cross-sector partnership to achieve widespread social innovation and sustainable development. A pioneer in the theory and practice of partnering for over a decade, his focus is around making partnership the ‘new normal’: mainstreaming collaboration as an accepted and widely implemented approach to development. His work combines developing the necessary theoretical frameworks along with directly implementing, refining and codifying new approaches such as country-based multi-stakeholder platforms to systematically catalyse partnership action. Darian has written extensively on partnership, lectures around the world and has played a significant role in driving the public-private cooperation agenda of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation, including a white paper setting out a ‘roadmap’ to shift the relationship between public and private and systematically drive the engagement of business as a partner in development.
